Text:
My nails slide along each other
Rhythmic but also out of pulse
I’ve kept them long enough to show these nerves
I can hear the neighbours talking above me
Not loud enough to know what they’re saying
Just the fact that they’re talking
The painting tells me things
as they used to be
How things used to be
How they are no longer
Strangers
walk past me
I could greet them
I could keep on looking forward
or down
Someone becomes something
My lost objects
acquire a certain feeling of importance
Now they’re left, they’re no longer mine to keep
Something is coming towards me from afar
it wants to offer it’s advice
My foot moves temporarily up and down
Steady but also without
conscience
Eyes
bore through my stature
A wish from far away
from who I am
from here in the now
Ice drops slide down
and from the ground
I drink
and I evaporate towards
being One
with the inescapable course of things
I didn’t try
to become
Something becomes someone
